In 1994 the filmmaker Haraldur Sigurjónsson directed a video entitled “Ný-Rokk í Reykjavík”. The title is referring to the “old” RIR rockumentary by Oscar nominee Friðrik Þór Friðriksson, shot in the period 1981-1982.

The documentary features performances by 4 acts: Curver, 2001, Maus and Kolrassa Krókríðandi. These musicians were releasing some first stuff like Maus and Curver, Kolrassa Krókríðandi made 2nd one, and 2001 a first EP around the time of the making of the video.

Halli Sig interviewed the artists in the rehearsal spaces, during the rehearsals and live on stage.

F.ex. Maus was shot in their rehearsal space (later on the space for Sigur Rós). The place was lost in a fire very recently, destroying the house and art made by Halldór (Klúbba-Dóri) Ragnarsson.

Only 20 copies on VHS were made, so a real collector’s item!

For your eyes only, put on YouTube :-)
