The duo Pétur Ben and Eberg made an album “Numbers game” (Kölski, 2011). On the album there’s a song with the same title, that has to do with that we don´t control everything that happens to us. s/t is rolling the dice – and you don´t know your luck – how things will pan out. So let us play with numbers, like Peter Greenway did in 1988 in his movie “Drowning by numbers”.

In search for the “One” and the “1999” in the Icelandic music history.

Murder by numbers.

Can I get your number?

Songs & Albums

The Sugarcubes put the song “A day called zero” on their 2nd album “Here today, tomorrow next week!” album (Smekkleysa, 1989).

Four years later Björk’s “Debut” featured the song “One day” (Smekkleysa, 1993).

But these 2 songs are proper Ramones take-offs:

Apparat Organ Quartet’s “1 2 3 Forever” from their 2nd album “Pólýfónía” (12 Tónar/Crunchy Frog, 2010)

Or Jan Mayen’s “1 2 3 Fjor!”, kick-off on their debut album “Home of the free indeed” (Smekkleysa, 2004)

Love Guru made a shorter one: “1 2 Selfoss”.

Megas made a song about 2 stars: “2 Stjörnur”.
